Join us online on Monday, September 22, 2025, for our Family Empowerment Series training “All about IEP Goals: Appropriate, Ambitious, and Attainable.”
In this session, we will learn about developing individualized education program goals for your student and everything you need to know about supporting your scholar’s learning and progress. If your child has an IEP, we recommend having a copy on hand so you can review their current goals during this training!
We will cover important topics such as
- Setting goals,
- What to ask (what makes a goal appropriate, ambitious, and attainable),
- SMART goals (metrics that make an effective goal), and
- Working on goals at home (how to support your child’s learning outside of the classroom).
Want to study up early? Check out our office’s YouTube page featuring a series of six dynamic videos on Special Education in DC! All videos are available in English and Spanish with open captioning. Visit our page on YouTube: youtube.com/@DCSpecialEducationHub/playlists for all 12 videos!
Attending our Family Empowerment Series is a great opportunity for caregivers to receive information and ask questions about how best to support their students with disabilities. Don’t let this fantastic opportunity pass you by! We can’t wait to see you there!
