In this workshop, we introduce participants to Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and neurodiversity. We review typical developmental milestones followed by signs and symptoms of ASD, including sensory processing difficulties. We then provide resources that are available to DC families who may suspect ASD in their child.
This parent workshop is presented by Drena Lopez-Duran.
Early Stages is an evaluation center that works with families to identify and address developmental delays and disabilities in children aged 2 years 8 months to 5 years 10 months. A program of DC Public Schools (DCPS), we provide evaluations for DC residents who have not yet entered the school system or are currently homeschooled. Early Stages also serves families residing outside of DC if their children attend a private school or DC childcare center. All our services are completely FREE.
You can learn more about us on our website at earlystagesdc.org.
